Sun 210908 to Sun 051008 Japan Trip, Day Five

RAIN! Our first rainy day in Japan. Bought these ultra cool clear umbrellas.
Really useful in um, looking up in the rain. lol.

Today we're heading to Osaka! 42.8km away from Kyoto.
It's a half hour ride on the JR express line.

Car number 7. Non smoking yes.

Once again Wilson blogging on the go.

TERMINATOR! SKYNET! JUDGEMENT DAY!!! it's COMING!!!

Had to go to Ueno? i think. To switch trains.

Women only cars during rush hours. Because of frequent groping incidents.

And we were on our way to Shin-Osaka.
Check out the morning workout ad on the TV! too cute. too cute.

Double checking the station names.

Yay we're here~

Once at Osaka we had to switch to their local metro...

Which were so cool ya. Spiderman carriage.

Bentencho! No we're not there yet. One more train to swap.

On our way down we saw this group on excursion. So cute can all the kids.
See the 2nd kid from the left. "i see you!"

We didn't have any maps of Osaka, so this photo was our guide.

Wilson mis-read the ticketing thing. Paid an extra 100yen for his ticket. haha~

Finally, we're here. Osakako.

That's where we were, at the bottom of the photo, red triangle.
Heading to the ferris wheel above.

Cloudy skies all the way here as well. Looks like they forgot to photoshop the sky today.

The Osaka Kaiyukan Aquarium! The main reason why we're here in Osaka.

Penguins! I bought a super cute turtle here. So right now i got a penguin from New Zealand, a wombat from Australia, and a turtle from Japan. haha ;D

These were expensive tickets. S$26 or something like that.
The big attraction here was the pair of whale sharks.
I've never seen a live whale shark before. Must be big.

I remember thinking to myself when entering the place,
how did they move the whales into the tanks?
Maybe they built the tank around the whale? lol.

Not all fishes.

Fair share of reptiles.

These alligators didn't move an inch the whole time we were there. Act cool only.

Now these were cute. This little guy kept waddling to and fro from his little cave,
and everytime he came close to the glass all the girls would scream "KAWAIII!!!" non stop~

Dolphins! They really do seem like they're speaking to each other, just fooling around.

All staring at what? i dunno. They weren't moving.

This was our first large encounter. Giant stingray!
Compare the wingspan to the height of the people.

Closer view... it was just flying around in the water.

After a while i started shooting people instead.

It was actually one huge tank, like 4 storeys high.

Tank so big, where's the whale?

There she is! Huge.

Entourage following it around.

Kamei!!! (Which means turtle in japanese ;P)

Then the place got invaded by these little critters.

Noisey little buggers. lol.

Crabs. Like, Huge can. Same size as my 23" LCD.

They look like the towering War of Worlds monster.

Grouchy looking, fat, fish.

Checking out the crabs.

On the last floor they had this really scary Area 51 jelly fishes. About half a metre long ya.

And then there were mini versions!

Stringy versions.

Tiny tiny glowing ones.

This one was really beautiful.

They had slow pulsating lights in this tank. Looked really magical.

>

Then the noise train came crashing through again. Screaming, pushing yelling. lol.

And we're out! Think we spent about an hour in there?

Lunch! Cheapest meal we could find. Saving up for our shopping spree in Tokyo ;D

It was still drizzling with grey skies all over.
Imperial Palace didn't look so appealing, so we took the ferris wheel instead.

And we got a pink one~ lol.

View of the aquarium from the ferris wheel.

Right, now we can say we saw the whole of Osaka in a day. xD

There were graphics to tell you what you were looking at on all sides of the box.

Compared to the Singapore Flyer, this one revolves at 20 times the speed i think.

Went into the nearby shopping centre, where we saw... a goat.

And such perfect looking cats, i thought at first they were wax figures.

But no, they were alive and scratching! What were they scratching at?

This little birdy right outside their cage. lol. Evil can.

I don't know why but the grey skies all round just killed our mood.
Felt so drained. Went back to Kyoto after walking around for a bit.

Was about 3.45pm on our way back. Decided to go shopping at the other end of Kyoto.

Massive Daimaru beside Kyoto Station. Only 2 floors of guy stuff. The rest, ALL GIRLS!

>

Wilson buying stuff for his friend's girlfriend. lol. Far away right.

What did he buy? Jill Stuart hand mirrors! Heavy.

Walked around till late evening before having dinner here.
Wilson bought a carry-on sized luggage for our trip back to Tokyo tomorrow.
His bag was overflowing with souvenirs. xD

Dinner!
I spent over S$200 at Uniqlo. The best thing about their stuff is the
minimalist style and the lack of any big ugly logos on their clothes. I loves!
Plus their clothes fit really good. Asian cutting.

That's all for day 5. Basically fishes and shopping. hur.
