Site’s officially powered by WordPress! Been planning the switch since last year, but haven’t got the time or motivation to do so until recently.
After working on the IndoChine site, and looking at the awesome social media integration of the AFA site, i realized i was way behind in current web technologies and trends. One way or another, you have to go with a CMS. Was considering textpattern, but the lack of community support made WordPress the first choice. The flexibility of the categories, tagging, widgets, the ability to link up to facebook, twitter and iPhone, just too good to pass up.
The biggest motivation to change was the content. I realize among all the posts, i had a lot of good posts on quotes, tutorials, photography and useful reflections. Posts that i would like to reference back on, but had no way of find them since there wasn’t a search button anywhere.
Worst, it was sorted by date, not content. Content should always come first! After sorting out the design which took me about 3 days, the biggest problem now is converting the past 5 year’s worth of posts from my old site into WordPress. The only way to do that, is to copy, paste, tag and categorize them one by one. That’s 1825 posts. After 2 days i’m only at 150 posts. lol.
Anyways apart from a few more tweaks and functions to add in, I’m quite satisfied with how it turned out. If you discover any funny bugs, please post in the comments! thanks :)
the biggest proble with wordpress is that it doesn’t design itself
THe required to enter email is irritating , like wilson site.
Your blog is heavy , long loading time..
Yea i find it quite annoying too. shall remove it. This particular theme i edited from not very optimized, a lot of unnecessarily code. Need some days to optimize.

the host for rightjm sucks. they wipe out all my files and cannot restore. Dont feel like starting another one till i change host. Anyway i never really do web now so, i wait till i start webbing..
