I few months back, I was caught between CoD Modern Warfare 2 and Dragon Age. Despite the awesome reviews appearing all over the internet, the lack of multi-player was too big a factor for me.
Then just a couple days back Greg started playing, and that was it. Right now I’m about 6 hours in and still amazed at the amount of freedom you have. By freedom I don’t mean game world. It’s freedom in terms of the decisions you can make. It seems the choices you make affects the story line as well as your party members.
Early on in the game I was already faced with a tough one. To help your best friend escape with the love of his life? or betray him by reporting this forbidden relationship to your mentor to gain rank and favor? Like OMG stress.
These sort of plot changing decisions are littered throughout the game, and it just begs for another play-through to see what would happen if you picked the other option. I heard it’s similar to Fallout3 and Mass Effect 2, but I’m a swords and magic guy, no *pew pew* lasers for me. So I can’t comment on those.
Apart from the usual spell casting, hacking and slashing, other fun things you can do include romancing your party members, buying gifts, or offend them enough and they’ll leave your party. Good party relations affect combat bonuses, so it’s worth putting in the effort to build better relations. Although I think it’s not always possible. One of my warriors keeps arguing with my mage. Another time he scolded me for sacrificing a life to save some kid. It’s hilarious. xD
If you have the patience, and you’re looking for a solid RPG to spend some time with, this is for you. Dragon Age is deep, engrossing, and it just sucks you in. It’s like watching an interactive Lord of the Rings movie :]

Cold spells are super good. Give ur tanker cold resist, then use mage freeze the area. Tanker crit hit instant shatter frozen enemies :)

Mmm it saved my old msg. Actually i think maybe rogues would be better. Rogues higher chance of crit hit. The cold cone save my party many times liao xD

You tried the poison making skills? Apparently they’re super powerful when combined with weapons. But only lasts a minute or 2. I think this game is biased towards melee characters. There are ZERO powerful items for spell casters. ._.||
