We’re in the age of Wii TV parties, PS3 fighting and multi-player PC games, but there’s a certain allure in gathering with friends for a couple hours, over some drinks, just to play classic boardgames. You can’t beat the social face to face value of boardgames, or a game of chess maybe. The last time i played board games was when Leon bought the epic World of Warcraft set. Like 4 hours per game can. And we couldn’t even finish it! lol.

Played Cranium over the weekend at Gin’s gathering. 16 people! 4 teams! nearly 5 hours! lol. Super fun with all the random team based activities and quizzes. The only issue was that it wasn’t localized. Some of the questions had famous songs/singers/actors that no one knew, and therefore couldn’t act/sing for others to guess. Even if he or she knew, the rest didn’t.

I’m tempted to go out and buy the latest edition of RISK to have an all nighter. Looking at the computer screen all day = tiring.

  1. yeah my side cuz we grew out of video games le at parties we also play mainly board and card games nia. more social interaction value bah.

  2. world of warcraft board game is just like the real game…completely waste time. that time play 5 hour still never complete.

  3. @chad – The attack and defend system too complicated for board game. One battle need to throw dice like 20 times.
