Every few years a movie like this comes along to blow everyone else out of the water. It’s not as epic as Baz Luhrmann’s Australia, nor is it as visually impressive as Avatar. It’s just tight. Flawless storytelling, acting, editing and visual effects.

I haven’t come across a lot of movies that manage to keep me on the edge of my seat. Eagle eye was one of them, followed by the Bourne series. This Inception is in a class of it’s own. Much like Shutter Island, it took a bit of thinking to get a grasp of the concept the movie was based on.

About 3/4 into the show I was just in total awe at the whole presentation and execution of this simple idea; that you go into people’s dreams to alter their subconscious. The way they weave logic into fantasy is just amazing. The ‘rules’ of how each layer of dreams affect the dreamers. How they ran mini-stories and scenes at the same time throughout the movie.

10 years ago this movie wouldn’t be possible. People wouldn’t have been able to accept such a concept 10 years ago. Matrix was the one that started it all. Other fantasy-reality shows followed, like Gamers, Surrogate, Jumper. Man I can’t wait to see what comes next. Inception is going to be a tough one to top.

  1. Lol I hated Bourne the filming was awful…Matrix, Gamers, Surrogate and Jumper also…so I don’t think I’ll like this show. You like shows like your photos hor, lots of black and high contrasty lol.
