The lighting thief, while not as epic as Harry Potter, feels like a very condensed version of it. The movie starts well, builds up nicely and ends well. It’s a complete package that you can’t go wrong with. The cast was so-so, no real big draws except for the Kill Bill and James Bond dude. Feels like it was meant for a younger crowd. It’s not as serious as Sherlock Holmes, but still enjoyable. Effects were awesome as we’d come to expect from movies these days.
I think we’ve been spoilt by these mega trilogies, Ironman, Spiderman, Lord of the Rings, Twilight, etc. We’ve come to expect so much more from movies. A short 2 hour action adventure just doesn’t feel enough. When you do movies now, it feels like it has to be as epic as Avatar, or stretched out like the Bourne Series.
Anyways, first day of Chinese New Year! Yes today was so full of win. ^-^
