Another one in our circle of Secondary school friends getting engaged! Congrats Ming Yan & Kelly! xD The actual wedding date is next year, but engagement is on the 26th this month, a day after Christmas.
Went with the usual gang to Ming Yan’s place for a night filled with Raving Rabbids (damn this was fun), Mao’s horror stories from his recent holiday and of course, BBQ goodness! Been some time since everyone got together. Well, they do get together, just that seldom join in. lol.
Leon’s hardcore into macro stuff now, he’s using a 50mm reversed onto a 18-55 kit lens on 50D in the photo above. He also brought this Raynox 250 macro lens thing that attaches onto the front of your lens, effectively converting it into a magnifying glass.
I tried doing a video of him lighting a cigarette. The effect was nothing short of awesome! (i’ve never done anything like that before so to me it was awesome. haha~) Sparked another bunch of ideas for an artsy video piece in macro. I forgot to try doing portraits with it, but i think it doesn’t work. Max focal distance is like, 3 inches? mmm. I’m mad tempted to buy a 50mm F1.4. Anyone selling theirs? :D
