Another reason why I like to shoot outdoors, you get to use the environment as props. Shots done in the studio can’t match the impact you can get outdoors in the right locations.
Random spaces like these can be used to do fun things. We never planned this shot during our recce trip. It was the model’s idea to fit herself in one of the blocks :D Turned out quite well.
The concrete blocks was in direct sunlight when we got there. Had to wait for the sun to go down a bit before it got into the shade. Drawbacks of using 1 flash per umbrella is you can’t over power the sun like the more expensive heads. So we’re sort of restricted by the sun. Can only shoot in shaded places.
