I saw this really dramatic lighting setup in this food magazine for sushi, and decided to try it out. It worked in conveying the exotic sushi pieces, but for umm, noodles, it didn’t seem to work so well lol.
Doesn’t seem to convey the ‘EAT ME’ feeling of those typical bright + closeup looking food shots. The set meal looks like it just came out of a superhero movie, sitting there all cool on the table. Epic fails lighting.
I so need to get some BIG soft box or reflector thing to create flooding soft light sources. Sometimes umbrellas just don’t cut it I think.
The soup is looks clipped! need to drink more white soup!
