I had a light bulb moment when I was just sitting around after lunch, playing pets live. One shouldn’t join a company just because the pay is high, or because the work is challenging. It’s more than that.
One should join with the mindset, that here in this company, there’s a circle of people, each with their own overlapping circles outside of this company. And after 1 or 2 years, when, or if I decide to leave this company, I can leave with solid relationships with people in this circle. If you do the same with every company you go into, after 4 years or less, you’ll have a huge network of people you can tap into to make things happen.
The difficult part is getting to know the people enough to be able to enter their own, and connecting circles. I used to think that in the working world, I’m considered a specialist executive, someone with specialized skills that can’t be replaced, like an engineer specialized in certain fields, compared to say, a delivery person. So people skills aren’t that important, it’s your expertise that counts. The past couple of months proved me so wrong.
I’ve sort of hit a plateau in my design career. No amount of Photoshop finesse or know-how is going to get me to where I want to be. It’s the people around you that will bring you that extra step, after you’ve done all you can on your own.
Money makes the world go round. It’s a very generic, factual statement for everyone to spam at everyone else. A very useless statement to say. To me it’s not money that makes the world goes round. It’s people, and what they think of you, that makes the world go round for YOU.
Who gives a damn how much of a change some stranger is making with his or her money. It’s all, about, you, and the people that know you. Make sure it’s positive.

So sad. I’ve come to realise the same thing. Its how u go party with ur collegue after work, or connect with the bosses that they will come to like you or notice u. How sad is life. Put on ur mask. LOL
I don’t think it’s a mask, more like coming out of the cave to see the light. I think we picked the wrong career already xD Destined to work hards.
Oo u will be surprised how many in my life cling on to politics and relationship to keep it going. Darn, many times they are the ones who make it into the big game. Lol.
