Japan Day 9

Tsukiji Fish Market
Our attempt to wake up at 5am failed terribly. We reached the famous fish market at about 10am. lol. Completely missed the early auctions of the massive tunas. By the time we got there they were all chopped up and packed into boxes. Nearly all of the stores were closing, washing down all their tables and things.

But we did get to eat some of the freshest tuna ever, along the outskirts of the market. Several queues along the popular stores. The tuna was so fresh it sort of melts in your mouth. :D

Ginza
It was still drizzling, been like that since yesterday. But we went to check out Ginza anyways. Super expensive district. We found people queuing around the corner, in the rain? So we followed the queue about FOUR BLOCKS away, and found out it was the opening of a new H&M building. Hardcore can these people.

We stopped by this Burberry building to check out the umbrella prices, S$300 for a foldaway one! But the place was cool though. Even their stairs were carpeted with the Burberry pattern. Couldn’t find the glass Prada building anywhere, Maybe we were on the wrong street…

Odaiba
Next up we went to check out the Rainbow bridge, along with the futuristic buildings on this entirely reclaimed island. By this time it was no longer raining, but misting. You know those super fine water droplets? Yea it was like that. Felt like it was snowing. And the grey skies made everything look flat.

Went to check out the FujiTV building (photo above). They display massive posters of upcoming productions everywhere. Took the lift up into the huge observatory for the ‘million dollar Tokyo night view’, as stated on their signboard. Super misty, no million dollar views here. Sat around the place watching FujiTV channels till dark.

You could do a bunch of other random stuff at the place. Like collect stamps all over the building in exchange for something, or become a sports newscaster on the green screen. There was even the prompt card lady to tell you what to say. A few kids went to try it out, super funny. lol.

By the time it was dark the view got really nice, went around shooting on ground level at the rainbow bridge. It seems most of the younger generation Japanese understand English, especially the service line people. But they take a while to formulate the sentences. xD
